Visiting Hours

Family and friends are very important to a patient's healing process. While visiting hours vary by hospital and department, you are always encouraged to follow these guidelines:

  • Patients may choose their visitors and withdraw visitation consent at any time. We also reserve the right to limit visitation to protect patient and visitor health.
  • Child visitors must be free of illness, remain in the patient’s room and be under the supervision of their parent or guardian at all times. Children, ages 12 and under, must always be accompanied by an adult. Children are not to be left unattended in waiting or public areas of the hospital.
  • We may ask visitors to leave the room while care is given to patients.
  • The Punxsutawney Area Hospital is a smoke fee campus.

ICU Visiting

PAH has open hours for the ICU but may request visitors to wait. We ask that small children may refrain from visiting do to safety concerns but we will not exclude. Please refrain from visiting during 7 a.m. - 7:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. - 7:30 p.m., as this is the reporting time and shift change.

‘Expecting You’ Visiting Hours:

Quiet Time is from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. daily. Visitors are asked to check in at the nurse’s station at the ‘Expecting You’ Department upon arrival. All children age 12 and older may visit. Siblings are the only children under the age of 12 who may visit. Our staff is happy to assist you in helping new siblings understand the hospital. We ask that siblings are supervised and supported during their visit.
