EMERGENCY SERVICES
The Emergency Department is staffed 24 hours a day by physicians certified in Emergency Medicine or Family Practice. Our Emergency Room is the base station for an ALS (Advanced Life Support) ambulance transport system provided by Jefferson County Emergency Medical Services. Special features include: Advanced Life Support, Life-Watch Monitoring and 24-hour Poison Control Services. The department also offers Emergency Medical Technician observation hours and continuing education for paramedics.
The newly constructed Emergency Department can be accessed through Entrance 3 which is shared with the Rapid Care and Medical Arts Building Parking area. The ER is 9,113 square feet, with a total of 11 treatment spaces, providing optimal privacy and improved patient experiences is now open. As part of the new design, specific treatment areas will meet the needs of patients experiencing behavioral health issues, substance abuse challenges, and respiratory concerns. The design of the unit is based upon a radial ED design concept to provide staff a clear view of all patients at all times.
