2026

Hospitals are a vital part of their communities and the services they provide extend well beyond just curing injury or illness. Hospitals are taking responsibility for the health of their communities, helping people get and stay healthy year-round. In 2026, the Punxsutawney Area Hospital will be hosting a series of educational seminars and other activities to promote wellness in our community.

Through our Community Health Needs Assessment, we recognize the areas of wellness where our community needs additional support and resources. Throughout the year, we will be providing programs, education, and resources aimed at addressing these needs and improving the overall health and well-being of our residents.

These events are designed to empower community members with the knowledge and tools they need to make healthier choices in their everyday lives. Topics will include preventative care, nutrition, heart health, diabetes management, mental health awareness, and strategies for maintaining an active lifestyle. Local healthcare professionals will lead presentations, answer questions, and provide practical guidance that individuals and families can apply at home.

In addition to seminars, the hospital plans to offer interactive activities such as health screenings, wellness workshops, and opportunities to connect with local health and wellness resources. By bringing these programs directly to the community, Punxsutawney Area Hospital hopes to make health education accessible, engaging, and beneficial for people of all ages.

Through these initiatives, the hospital continues its commitment to strengthening community health by encouraging prevention, early detection, and healthy living. By working together with residents, community partners, and healthcare professionals, Punxsutawney Area Hospital strives to support a healthier future for our entire community.

Education Seminars for each month are being scheduled.
