Punxsutawney Area Hospital Covid 19 Phase 1A Vaccine Program
This vaccine distribution process is being held under the guidance of the Pennsylvania Department of Health Vaccine Plan.
No reservations are being accepted -  there are no wait lists.  This Vaccine Program is first come, first serve.

The Vaccine is Moderna. 


Date: Saturday, February 20th  at the Punxsutawney High School
Facility will NOT be opened until 8:30 a.m. Parking will be in the main lots of the school and the auditorium will be used as the Entrance point.

Time: 9 a.m. - 12  p.m.  65 and older ( must bring driver’s license or identification )

Time: 12 p.m. -  4 p.m.  (ALL Phase1A):   
This vaccine program is  a 1A event   participants must quality under the Department of Health Guidelines listed below:
Persons ages 65 and older ( 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.)

People in these categories: (Noon – 4 p.m.)
Persons ages 16-64 with high-risk conditions:
Cancer
Chronic kidney disease
COPD
Down Syndrome
Heart conditions, such as heart failure, coronary artery disease, or cardiomyopathies
Immunocompromised state (weakened immune system) from solid organ transplant or from blood or bone marrow transplant, immune deficiencies, HIV, use of corticosteroids, or use of other immune weakening medicines
Obesity (body mass index of 30 kg/m2 or higher but < 40 kg/m2)
Severe Obesity (BMI ≥ 40 kg/m2)
Pregnancy
Sickle cell disease
Smoking
Type 2 diabetes mellitus

Health care personnel ( Bring your badge) including, but not limited to:
Emergency medical service personnel
Nurses
Nursing assistants
Physicians
Dentists
Dental hygienists
Chiropractors
Therapists
Phlebotomists
Pharmacists
Technicians
Pharmacy technicians
Health professions students and trainees
Direct support professionals
Clinical personnel in school settings or correctional facilities
Contractual HCP not directly employed by the health care facility
Persons not directly involved in patient care but potentially exposed to infectious material that can transmit disease among or from health care personnel and patients


****** Participants are asked to wear short sleeves and masks are required. Participants cannot be experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, currently be Covid positive, or have had a different vaccination 2 weeks prior to the date.
Participants will be required to receive their second shot on Saturday, March 20th.  

AGAIN- no reservations are being accepted -  there are no wait lists.

Because this is a mass vaccination event, participants are reminded of potential extended wait times.  We will do everything in our power to expedite the processes, but encourage attendees to prepare accordingly.

If you need to bring a support person with you, that is acceptable, however that does not mean they will be getting a vaccine unless they meet the criteria for 1A (listed above)
