Mountains Health Ensures Quality Healthcare For Pennsylvania Communities
Posted on January 28, 2026 in Latest News
Steve Wolfe, President and CEO of Indiana Regional Medical Center, recently
announced that Pennsylvania Mountains Care Network will now become Mountains Health.
The introduction of the new name comes as a first step to create a more unified and identifiable brand
for the three hospitals associated with the healthcare partnership - Indiana Regional Medical Center,
Punxsutawney Area Hospital, and Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.
In the year to come, Mountains Health will be working to further define the brand and evolve the critical role each hospital fulfills in the communities they serve as they share critical resources, experiences,
ideas and expertise. Wolfe stated that, “Mountains Health will continue to celebrate the independence of each of our community hospitals while strengthening the bond of care that connects us.” Nichole Geraci, President of Armstrong
County Memorial Hospital added that, “This partnership gives each of us the opportunity to work together to advance our level of patient care and the technologies we utilize to provide it.” When asked about what’s next for the organization, Dr. Clark Simpson, President of Punxsutawney Area Hospital said that, “These efforts are important steps in building a strong foundation for our brand and amplifying our commitment to care for our communities and region as we seek even greater opportunities for growth.”
The healthcare partnership was formed in 2015 to ensure that access to quality care would remain within
Pennsylvania’s rural communities, maintaining jobs and keeping patients close to home and family. Today the hospitals of Mountains Health have more than 350 beds, 2,800 employees, and cover more than 200,000 lives in Indiana, Armstrong and Jefferson counties.
