47th Annual Dr. F.J. Trunzo Memorial Golf Outing

PUNXSUTAWNEY, PA – Punxsutawney Area Hospital is pleased to invite community members, businesses, and golf enthusiasts to participate in the 47th Annual Dr. F.J. Trunzo Memorial Golf Outing, taking place on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at the Punxsutawney Country Club. The annual event celebrates the legacy of Dr. Francis J. Trunzo while raising funds to support the mission of the Punxsutawney Area Hospital Foundation.
For nearly five decades, the Dr. F.J. Trunzo Memorial Golf Outing has brought together hospital supporters, local businesses, community leaders, and friends of the Trunzo family in a shared commitment to improving healthcare throughout the region. Over the years, the tournament has become one of the Foundation's signature fundraising events, helping advance patient care and strengthen local healthcare services.
Proceeds from this year's outing will benefit the Punxsutawney Area Hospital Foundation, whose mission is to enhance hospital programs, services, medical technology, equipment, and physician recruitment and retention while engaging the community as partners in improving local health.
"This event is more than a day on the golf course—it's an opportunity for our community to invest in the future of healthcare close to home," said Katie Donald, Vice President of Professional and Corporate Services at Punxsutawney Area Hospital. "Every sponsorship, registration, and donation helps ensure we can continue providing exceptional care and expanding services for the patients and families we serve."
The tournament will feature a handicapped scramble format with registration and lunch from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., a 12:00 p.m. shotgun start, and dinner and awards beginning at 5:00 p.m. Participants will also have the opportunity to compete for seven skill prizes throughout the day.

The registration deadline is August 7, 2026. Organizers also welcome raffle prize donations and other contributions to help make the event a success.
