Punxsutawney Area Hospital is thrilled to invite the community to an Open House Event for the new Emergency Department on Thursday, June 12th from 5 p.m. - 7p.m.The Emergency Department marks Phase One of a Four Phase comprehensive project, made possible in part by the generous contributions of various donors and financing through a loan by the USDA.
During this event, the community will learn about the process of entering the facility until Phase Two is completed. Once Phase Two is finalized, the public will use the main entrance of the Emergency Department. Until then, both the public and emergency services will access the facility through the ambulance entrance.
Jack Sisk, President of PAH, stated, “We are thrilled to be approaching the completion of Phase One of this project. While patient flow may change when the Emergency Department initially opens, we want to assure the community that the transition will be smooth and manageable.”
The official opening date of the new Emergency Department is awaiting final approvals from the PA Department of Health. The transition is planned to occur during the night hours when patient numbers are typically lower. Clear information and signage on campus will help guide patients effectively during this time. We kindly ask for your patience throughout this transitional period. Our dedicated team has been working tirelessly to ensure that every detail is meticulously planned and executed. Staff training sessions have been conducted to familiarize everyone with the new systems and protocols, ensuring a seamless experience for patients and their families. We have also implemented state-of-the-art technology to enhance efficiency and communication within the department.
Looking ahead, Phase Two of the project, which includes the Outpatient Entrance and Laboratory Department, is currently underway.
The Punxsutawney Area Hospital expresses gratitude to all staff and donors who are making this $25 million project a reality.
