Punxsutawney Area Hospital Makes Breast Cancer Screening More Convenient with Walk-In Mammograms on Tuesdays

Starting Tuesday, November 10th
Mammo Tuesday

Taking care of your health just got a little easier! Punxsutawney Area Hospital (PAH), a partner of Mountains Health, is making breast cancer screening more accessible by offering walk-in screening mammograms every Tuesday from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
With busy schedules, work commitments, and family responsibilities, finding time for routine preventive care can sometimes be challenging. PAH's walk-in mammography hours are designed to remove one of those barriers by allowing women to receive their routine screening mammograms without the need to schedule an appointment in advance.
Early detection plays an important role in the fight against breast cancer. Regular screening mammograms can help identify changes in breast tissue before symptoms develop, when treatment may be most effective.
"We understand that women are often balancing many responsibilities, and their own health can sometimes take a back seat. By offering walk-in mammograms with extended Tuesday hours, we hope to make it easier for women in our community to prioritize their health and receive these important screenings", Radiology Manager, Kara Milligan.
The hospital's commitment to women's health extends beyond providing convenient appointments. Through continued investments in imaging technology and women's health services, PAH remains focused on ensuring patients have access to quality healthcare close to home.

Women who are due for their routine mammogram are encouraged to take advantage of this convenient opportunity. Patients planning to walk in must know the date of their most recent screening mammogram to help staff verify their screening history and ensure appropriate timing for their next examination.
Individuals experiencing breast symptoms or concerns should contact their healthcare provider, as they may require a diagnostic mammogram rather than a routine screening.
At Punxsutawney Area Hospital, we believe that access to preventive healthcare should be simple and convenient. Offering walk-in mammograms is another way we are working to meet the needs of our community and help women take proactive steps toward better health.
Your health matters. Early detection matters. Make time for your mammogram this Tuesday!
